Transportation is the movement of people, animals, and goods from one location to another. There are several modes of transportation including air, rail, road, water, cable, pipeline and space. Transport is very important because it enables trade between humans, which is essential for the development of civilizations. In fact, the most developed nations of the world have the best transportation networks available making movement of people, goods and most importantly ideas possible at the fastest speed and lowest possible cost. Transportation also contributes significantly to the economy and many important sectors such as infrastructure, automobile and petrochemical are based on transportation.
